If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression or mood issues, dissociation, and possibly some ADHD too, I’m here for you. If you’re looking to work through trauma that is making it hard for you to breathe, to function, to know and be yourself, you’ve come to the right place. I often treat individuals who are recognizing how past ways of functioning just aren’t working for them now and who want to make real and lasting change. Together we can work through the things that are bothering you and get you to a place where you can truly feel that your past is in your past and you have the skills and strength to keep moving forward.

I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental atmosphere to explore your concerns, using a number of evidence-based practices. I am a Registered Play Therapist (as of 12/19). I am also EMDRIA certified in EMDR (as of 7/22). I have experience and training in working with trauma and dissociation. I also have experience with CBT, DBT, and other approaches as well.

It is so important to find a therapist you feel listens, validates, and understands you and your unique strengths and struggles. Without this, little progress can be made. I look forward to speaking with you to see how we can work together.

I often work with folks who have trauma histories and dissociation, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, burn-out, and adult ADHD. I also frequently work with clients who have chronic health issues, and I understand we don’t always have the spoons we need.

I utilize a trauma- and attachment-informed lens, regardless of modality that fits you best. I often use EMDR to help challenge negative core beliefs that may be tied to trauma or negative experiences. EMDR can be useful for a wide variety of presenting problems, as so much comes from those statements we tell ourselves, about ourselves. I also use play therapy and CBT to help you meet your goals.

Are you overwhelmed by life’s challenges, struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or the complexities of being autistic or having ADHD? Maybe you’re dealing with high stress, navigating parenting or pregnancy, and seeking balance. You seek a nonjudgmental, holistic approach that balances evidence-based treatments with lived experience. Your goal is to build self-awareness, emotional regulation skills, compassion, manage stress, and live authentically. You want to go beyond just modifying behaviors and understand the thoughts, beliefs, and emotions driving them for more meaningful change. You want to feel supported and heard.

As a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming therapist, I offer person-centered therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, high stress, neurodiversity, parenting, and life challenges. Using cognitive approaches (CBT, DBT), mindfulness, compassion, and body-based interventions, we work on coping, emotional regulation, and self-awareness for meaningful change.

I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you’ve had negative experiences before. I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings.

As a therapist, I enjoy connecting with people and appreciate the vulnerability involved in asking for help. Virtual therapy offers the convenience of receiving support from your own space, making it easier to fit into your schedule.

I show up as a real, imperfect human who genuinely cares.

Top Specialties: Adults exploring their gender and sexuality, graduate students managing burnout and academic stress

Expertise:

  • Gender and Sexual Identity Development

I am a Queer and Queer-affirming therapist who helps adults in Illinois feel more confident in their gender and sexuality.

My clients struggle as you do.

Despite being smart, insightful, and motivated, life feels complicated. When they first come in, they are uncomfortable with who they are, don’t have the words to explain how they feel, and worry that their life could be thrown into chaos. They want to feel more certain of themselves, but fear judgement and rejection by others. They want to be true to themselves, but worry what they may lose in the process.

Their uncertainty gets in the way of the life they want in so many ways. They aren’t the kind of student or professional they want to be. They feel like they’re failing in relationships and falling short in obligations. And their confidence in work is slipping.

Before they came to see me, they worried they were permanently stuck in never feeling satisfied with their life. They worried I might judge them or rush them into a change they aren’t ready for. And they were pretty certain nothing could truly change for the better. The discontent was eroding their ability to be hopeful.

Like my clients, you deserve to have the life you envision without having to conceal parts of yourself, or always be left wondering what could be.

Living fully as yourself is not out of your reach.

If you want to feel more at peace with who you are, I’d love to help you get there.
